The Silver Lining Care Guide
Your jewelry is handcrafted using noble metals and earth-born gemstones. To maintain the architectural brilliance and luster of your pieces, we recommend following these professional care rituals.
The Golden Rule: Last On, First Off
Jewelry should be the final touch to your outfit and the first thing you remove at the end of the day.
Avoid Chemicals: Perfumes, hairsprays, and lotions contain chemicals that can dull
the finish of sterling silver and erode gold plating.
The "Dry" Rule: Always remove your jewelry before swimming, showering, or exercising.
Chlorine and sweat are natural enemies to high-polish finishes.
Metal-Specific Maintenance
Sterling Silver (.925): Silver naturally oxidizes over time when exposed to air.
In order to maintain its shine longer, we polish all our jewelry with Rhodium polish.
After purchase, should you feel the need to restore its original mirror-like shine,
use a soft, 100% cotton polishing cloth. Avoid "dip" cleaners,
as they can be too harsh for handcrafted details.
18K Gold Plating: Gold-plated silver requires a gentle touch. Clean only with a soft, dry microfiber cloth.
Never scrub or use abrasive cleaners, as this can thin the gold layer over time.
A Note on Gemstones
We use a curated selection of precious and semi-precious stones, each with its own unique "personality."
Green Onyx & Rubies: These stones are durable but appreciate gentle care. Clean them with a soft, damp cloth.
Avoid ultrasonic cleaners, which can cause internal fractures in some natural stones.
Cubic Zirconia: Known for its diamond-like fire, CZ can collect oils from your skin. A quick dip in warm,
mild soapy water followed by a soft brush (like a baby toothbrush) will restore its maximum brilliance.
Porous Stones: If your piece features organic or porous stones, avoid soaking them entirely;
a quick wipe is all they need.
Sophisticated Storage
When you aren't wearing your pieces, storage is key to preventing scratches and tarnish.
Stay Separated: Store each piece in its individual Silver Lining pouch or a lined jewelry box.
This prevents metal-on-metal friction and protects delicate stones from being scratched by harder ones.
Cool and Dry: Store your collection in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight,
which can fade certain semi-precious gemstones over time.
Designer’s Tip: The "Steam" Refresh
For pieces with intricate pavé settings (like the Infinite Heart), a professional trick for a quick refresh is to hold the piece carefully with tweezers near a steaming teakettle (not touching the water!) for 5 seconds, then pat dry with a microfiber cloth. The steam loosens trapped oils and restores that "boutique" sparkle instantly.
